Concept

Initially, Order for Two was to feature a pizza box that the player could throw to the other side to encourage players to look at both screens. We realize the pizza box adds nothing to the game play, other than to match the theme of pizza delivery and so scrapped the box. Instead, we made it so the level’s design is asymmetrical and contains moveable objects so that players utilized both screens to successfully complete the level.

Roles and Responsibilities

With Order for two being a small group project, I had to wear many hats. I created a rapid prototype showcasing the game’s mechanics in order to communicate my design intentions and vision. As one of the game’s artists, I created iconic images to represent the game’s achievements, as well as vibrant backgrounds to establish a certain feel for each level. The music and sound effects were all also composed by me, each level having its own unique looping track to get players excited.

Learning Outcome

Communication was key for this project to succeed. Due to the team working remotely, we made sure to contact each other frequently through discord. We had weekly voice call meetings to ensure all members completed their weekly tasks and reported daily what tasks we had implemented and which tasks were left. Thanks to our cooperation and hard work, we were able to finish Order for Two before the deadline while making it the best game it can be.
